Enrichment for the Women

There are 70 groups of women in the Unite, Learn and Empower (ULE) Project. Six groups were recently added and they are to experience the benefit of joining the project which has benefited many of those who joined.

Several trainings and activities were conducted to enhance the members’ capacity for self-development.

During the celebration of Nutrition Month last July, the members attended the Disaster Preparedness and Nutrition Training with the theme “Kalamidad Paghandaan: Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan” (“Prepare for Disaster: Prevent Hunger and Malnutrition”).

This month of August, Livelihood Trainings on Meat Processing were held in different areas. The training equipped them of knowledge on how to make hamburger patties, siomai, longganisa and embutido. The participants got a Starter Kit so they can continue making their own product and earn an income after the training. Basic Book keeping was also discussed to them as part of equipping the participants.

Another training conducted was making Bead Bags. Here, women who have a passion for making accessories and handicraft will be able to use their free time productively by engaging in activities that will turn their hobbies into income-generating activities.

Likewise, the Key Persons and Leaders of the ULE Project together with the Center for Community Transformation representatives have shared their experiences on Savings and Credit Association in a 1-day orientation/training held at CMPHGFI. Further training are set to be conducted for enhancing the capacity of ULE groups.
